Introduction

Traffic , F.P.F. (Paulista Football Federation) and F.F.E.RJ (Rio de Janeiro Football Federation) are responsible for organizing and developing the event that will be held in parallel to the Brazilian A Series Championship.

Under 23 will occur from September 15th to November 07th, and in its first edition, already counts on the 10 most traditional teams in Brazilian football. Athletes under twenty-three (23) years of age compete in the national championship, in the same standards as Olympic football.

The first stage consists of a single round. The teams play one group against another in single matches. After setteling the positions, the best two teams of each group play against each other on the semifinals. The final of the tournament also will be played in a game only.

With an innovative format, the Under-23 Cup promises to become the most important competition in the country for young players, besides being the ideal stage to develop future national football aces.
